Our Story
Breathing Room is back together again!
Breathing Room is an all-woman, all-original acoustic folk rock trio rooted in the DelMarVa area. After a 24-year intermission, longtime friends and collaborators Chris Vogt, Sally Twentey, and Lynn Hunt have reunited to make music that feels as honest and alive as ever.
With two singer-songwriters and a jazz-inspired drummer, Breathing Room weaves together a rich, organic sound — a mix of acoustic and electric guitars, bass, djembe, drum kit, harmonica, trumpet, trombone, and even cello. Their songs flow from folk to rock to soul-infused jazz, grounded in stories of nature, freedom, and rediscovery.
Seasoned by life, experience, and friendship, the trio embraces the joy and wisdom that come from making music purely for the love of it. Full of diversity, their sound is the kind that energizes listeners to get up and move or slow down, breathe, and remember what connection feels like.
